Near the end, when he sends her away, he tells her, "We'll always have Paris"--a reference to the early days of their love before the war. Much of the action is played out in "Rick's Cafe Americain," which Rick (Bogart) refers to as "a gin joint," in Casablanca. The movie won an Oscar for Best Picture in 1943.
