He was a boy all on his own,
he had no friend he could take home.
He had the toys, he had it all,
But not one friend could he recall.
The boys called him a pampered pet,
Because of all the things he'd get.
He'd say, 'I want,' and it was his,
Or he would get into a tiz.
One day he saw the ice cream van,
And went to order from the man.
'I want an ice with lots of sauce,
It must be strawberry of course."
"If you say please, I'll make the best
Ice cream with lots of strawberry zest.
The ice cream man said, as he smiled
To this, so lonely, friendless child.
More children then gathered around,
Now standing close to hear the sound
Of pampered pet as he said, 'please,'
They said he should beg on his knees.
Now pampered pet turned round and said,
"I bet you get tucked into bed;
I bet tonight when you go home,
You won't be left there all alone."
