One Christmas Eve Santa landed on a house,
Then slid down the chimney, as quiet as a mouse,
He drank the milk, the cookies too and found some clues
on what he should do,
Scribbled messages and directions for him to go upstairs,
They made Santa chuckle as he read the words,
So up the stairs Santa crept,
Total silence as the household slept,
Except in one bedroom a little boy was wide awake,
Prepared with carrots, more milk and a slice of cake,
"Hi Santa, I've been waiting for you"
Santa froze not sure what he should do,
What do you do when you've been seen
Turn around and tiptoe down the stairs again?
But Santa just smiled, his cheeks aglow,
Was this the time for a Ho! Ho! Ho?
But no, he whispered to the boy, " It's time to dream,
The magic only works when it's unseen"
The boy closed his eyes, though not too pleased,
As Santa left his gifts with a practiced ease,
Then down the stairs Santa made his way,
To finish his journey on Christmas Day...
