She wanders through the flowered vale Perusing poppies growing wild. Red blossoms mixed with pink prevail In clumps magnetic to a child. Not pausing long, she ambles through Grass tall enough to brush her hips. Then at hill's crest she sighs at view-- Isles far beyond two sailing ships. Meand'ring down the gentle slope, Elaine exults in all she's seen. Whence came the grief that made her mope? A pleasant jaunt has changed her mien. Life can be cruel, cause agony.
