One of the greatest sins,
If I missed my hero in Buckskins,
In his adventures I did delight,
In front of the TV every Thursday night,
Many considered him extremely lucky,
His stomping grounds were in Kentucky,
Considered a western but set on the frontier,
I watched this show year after year,
He would put the bad guys down below,
Rough and tumble was his way to go,
His rifle was named "Old Tick Licker,"
He shot the Injuns and outlaws quicker,
The adventures he had were mostly fiction
But the tales were told with such conviction,
His log cabin was considered his Mecca,
Kept neat and tidy by wife, Rebecca,
His son Israel was small and tough,
He was always getting into mischief,
The leading role played by Fess Parker,
For those playing the part he set the marker,
He was already a star you see,
He's played the guy from Tennessee,
If I was a girl I'd probably swoon,
Every week watching Daniel Boone.
