A flash fiction story...
The Encounter
by Diana L Crawford
The majestic bird soaring over the seashore inspires me. I become the eagle. Aloft in the briny atmosphere over the ocean. I soar towards billowy clouds, then scour the water’s surface. I rest upon the bough of a coastal pine tree. A male sits next to me – says he’s a family man whose wife is nestled down with eaglets. Then to my great surprise, he turns and says, “I’m free until dawn. Would you like to go for a fly?”
