To Mickey, with love.

My bags are ready.
all packed for my trip,
the one down the river of pain.

Not all are invited on this trip ~
this trip down the river of pain.

But I qualify ~
I have hated.
I have lied.
I have lost.
Now I'll travel the river of pain.

I've packed my resentments,
my anger and lust.
Bad memories are stuffed in a bag full of dust.
They'll flow down the river of pain.

No porter will carry my bag,
it's for me to shoulder my load.
Created my troubles,
now bear them I must
as I travel the river of pain.

Don't look for forgiveness,
don't look for redemption,
you'll find neither here on this trip.
Just demons aplenty
to scorch your poor soul,
your heart from the body they'll rip.

That's perfect to me,
I've no use for my heart,
take it you devils, burn it up.
Use it for fuel to ferry the ship
that travels the river of pain.
