Aust. Aboriginal musical instrument

Didgeridoo

by Aussie

Did you listen on haunting walk?
I have played magic wood
Drawing breath, making it talk
Gathering sounds, where I stood
Eerily imitating, animals, even stork
Realising natures' wonderful mood
I am in awe of spiritual talk
Didgeridoo, singing wood, wooed
Over thousands of years; magic calk
Oh, listen, aboriginal, musical food.

Acrostic Poetry Contest contest entry

Recognized

Acrostic contest entry: The didgeridoo has been played for thousands of years by aboriginal people. It is hollowed out of a tree branch, dried, painted and consecrated by the tribe. It can imitate all animal sounds. Women are not allowed to play it (tribal lore) can't blame me for trying!
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
