Birthday Wishes
by RodG
60 WORD DASH Contest Winner
We've gathered in the lounge of the hospice to celebrate Grandma Edna's 95th birthday. The cake is placed before her. Unconsciously, she pats her white feathered hair. Watery gray eyes gleam.
"Blow them all out!" I yell.
She stares pathetically before she tries.
"Show me," she pleads. "I don't remember what to do."
Weeping, I make a wish and blow.
