A chapter in the book The Heart of Poetry
Winters Reflections
by Carolyn 'Deaton' Stephens
Brrrrrrrrrrr, I've really outdone myself
this time Can't believe I went so overboard I decided to snow for a couple of hours then napped Forgot to set my timer to automatically turn me off So here we are six hours into this storm And I was not even predicted messed up weather man again When I get below zero I am forgetful I have been around since time began And there are times I get tired too You know It's not like I don't have a lot to do Reminding the wind to blow my drifts Reminding the sun to give me a break I love being Winter, however Spring and I Have discussed changing places for a while I like that idea, but we haven't figured out How I could begin the transition without a double shift Maybe I could talk to my Union boss Oh Godddddddddd can I have an appointment soon Wait, wait, the moon has just turned my new snow into diamonds Forget it God, I will stay just who I am... after all, you made me Winter |
