Just thinking
A chapter in the book The Heart of Poetry
Destiny's Cradle
by Carolyn 'Deaton' Stephens
With river banks on either side
Destiny's cradle embarks on life's ride Through spring fed rills and meadows fair travels child to adulthood maturing there Vast canyons deep and stone walls rise Gives lofty caution to the wise shore up resolve and strength renew Rough, rapid falls ahead of you River rushes, twist and turn Turbulence swells and troubles churn The ups and downs of life will end In calm repose, 'round river's bend Success resplendent pride to be Humble thanks we owe to Thee as river flows down to the sea It's comforting banks embraces me In spirits cheer and energy there's One who cares for you and me He calms the storm and brights the night An obedient soul, His heart's delight When finally the sea's in view And death is closing in on you Have no fear, you rode the tide And in His loving care abide For the river's bank on either side of sparkling waters deep and wide Portray a life-scene at its best Oh, faithful one, you've earned your rest |

I took this of the Meremec River in Missouri, it's a great one to float. Serene but with just enough rough water to make it challenging. We are very blessed if our life is like the river moving Destiny's cradle through the rushing waters of life.
