Sarah opened the pub restroom door to the next patron in line.
"Well, you look like hell," said a John Lennon type. "Those tears must mean he's an ass."
"I can confirm."
"Say, what if we catch a movie tonight? They're showing Casablanca. The problems of three people don't amount to a hill of beans, right?"
He was amiably sweet. His smile was crooked.
"Ilsa, you've got something on your face."
He leaned over. His lips brushed lightly against hers.
"Got it--a smile. What about the movie, kid?"
"Yes," she said through her new grin, "Then we'll always have Casablanca."

"Casablanca" is a classic film of World War II Africa, in which Humphrey Bogart (Rick) releases Ingrid Bergman (Ilsa) from their promises so that she can support her husband, the freedom fighter Victor Lazlo.
Near the end, when he sends her away, he tells her, "We'll always have Paris"--a reference to the early days of their love before the war.
Much of the action is played out in "Rick's Cafe Americain," which Rick (Bogart) refers to as "a gin joint," in Casablanca.
The movie won an Oscar for Best Picture in 1943.
