Life's trials

by Titanx9

Is there a raging in your soul and you can find no way to release or disavow it, so you strike out at those who are most vulnerable around you? It may be your child; your employee; or someone to whom you feel superior; it does not matter because your goal is to have someone feel the same hurt or disappointment you are experiencing. When you finally vent your poison, does it make you feel better? Does it make your problems less problematic? Moreover, are you able to move on to the next level?

In all probabilities, you probably responded "no" to each question. One thing everyone should learn as they grow older, and hopefully wiser, is that no one can eliminate their problems by either blaming or demeaning others.  Furthermore, when you attempt to destroy others, you are diminished by it whether or not you realize it.  All humans have a common tenor that, despite their often wishing it was not so, binds us together. It explains why when disaster strikes in far-away lands, we all feel compelled to help in some way. So rather than launch an attack upon some unsuspecting individual, think about what brought you to your current station in life and use it as a launching point to move forward. In the end, you will not only feel better about yourself for having engaged in the exercise, but you should also be able to move forward with your life in a more positive way. Below are ways that may help you narrow down and focus on specifics.

Eradicate Anger and Replace it with Expectation

It is often easy to blame and become angry. These emotions sometimes afford a way out of burdensome situations without taking responsibility for causing them. It is important that you conquer the emotions because there will never be growth until you take charge of them.  When you face problems, and we all have them, the first thing you might do is look backward instead of forward; it is this reason many problems hang around longer than they have to.  If you find you need to resolve something crucial in your life, like getting a job or to make more money to support your family, do not hide behind anger and disappointment.  You will discover that with the proper frame of mind, you can overcome the most onerous problems.  To do this, change your mindset and change your life. If you believe you can find a better job, you will. If you believe you have the skills to succeed, you will.

Develop a Vision for your life

The reason you may not see progress in your life is because you don't have a vision of a plan for it. You have probably heard hundreds of times that when you envisage the things, you want in life; you make it possible for them to materialize. It's true. Imagining a future that’s different from your present circumstance means you may have to face the possibility you caused your problems. Do not allow that to prevent you from moving forward with your visualization for something better. Or you may have tried visualization and nothing substantive happened. There is a parallel to visualization, and that is believing. When you allow yourself to believe the impossible, you make possible the reality for your aspirations. You become more focused, which facilitates synchronicity between you and the force that will ultimately respond to your desires. When you visualize you create at least two realities: 1. You get outside yourself and rise above the present, and you redefine yourself and make contact with your stronger and resilient self, and 2. You raise your aptitude because you start to search for your inner gifts and talents, and often it is doing the dreadful times that you discover your God-given  skills.

Stay the Course, don't wimp out

The most important components in a change regimen are persistence and calmness. You may have a few obstacles, but if you move forward with the same doggedness you may have had when you were angry at the world, you will triumph over all the impediments that once seemed insurmountable. Often to win, all it takes is a change in attitude. Someone once said, “your attitude is the compass of your life.” Also, attitude does determine altitude.  It is the approach or outlook you choose to represent you. Do not let it be anger, or you will suffer disappointment. Stay the course with a positive attitude and you will win.

More importantly, do not allow anger or disappointment be the emotion others see and ultimately define you. Remember, no matter how low your station in life may be, you can overcome and become whatever you desire to be.  All  it takes is to start to envision the things you want in life and start to believe they can happen, and they will.  Stay the course and you will suceed.

Over the years of working with many people and counseling them, I've found the above to be true. I've seen positive change many times when folks dared to change wrong thinking and negative attitudes. Many discovered that all it took was to identify what it was they wanted, have a belief in the impossible, or implausible, and a willingness to discipline themselves to stay with it until it materialized.
