set the free verse truly free!
The Pedantic Examiner
by Fleedleflump
If I should now arrange my words just so, to please elab'rate structures on this page, then rote convention dictates you will see these patterned words and label them 'blank verse', but sprinkling just the merest hint of rhyme upon a structure begging for a theme can redefine perception of design, and suddenly a quatrain is the meme; perhaps a sonnet, blooming from the screen, or just some couplets, simple, quick and clean? No! I say it's a poem and it's free, pedantic'ly iambic, obviously, and penned to fend off definition's stamp and fail, because of all the categories that float around the world unstoppably and bring 'unlabelled' crashing to its knees. |
