A short sentence describing this

Is Life Worth Forgiving?

by Bryce 1

At first glance I knew she was mine
She said the same applied to me
People told me that's love at first sight
Filled with joy and ecstasy

Together forever we'd always claim
Souls touching in agreement
Months went by and then some years
A lasting love was our achievement

My faith in life was ever growing
I felt bolstered and upraised
But all of that has come to pass
And left cold in yesterdays

'Twas a cloudy day in Colorado
That's where we did reside
I never thought the lord would take
My young and beautiful bride

A bolt of lightning struck the grounds
And clung tight upon my love
It sent her soul quickly reeling
Into the skies above

Afterwards I just laid low
With a bottle and a bed
Each day I'd rise in disappointment
That I didn't wake up dead

Betrayed by life, betrayed by God
Hung on the line to dry
The greatest pain I've ever felt
Was never saying goodbye

I don't pray and I don't move
I just waited for my time
When life would finally seal the deal
And snip loose love's lone tie

Friends have come to check on me
And give me their advice
They say I should talk to them
And put my pain on ice

It's hard for me to come to terms
With the turning dimes of life
If tragedy is always near
Why would I even try?

But then it finally dawned on me
The answer to my pain
If trying is a fruitless mission
Then surrender's not in vain

To mourn my love every day
And look ahead with hope
Is to keep her memory safe with me
And slowly, surely cope

Everyday gets better
Though the scar is always there
Red inflamed and tender
I know I'll always care

To carry on for her
Was enough to help me stand
Though her absence hurts my soul
She still makes a better man

Though life is always at the ready
To take what it has given
Teary eyed I've come to find
That all can be forgiven
