The old lady sat on her bed. Deep in her memories of her husband Tom and daughter Lane. Both killed fighting the Germans.
Tom was killed in action in 1942.
Lane, her beautiful daughter drowned when the Japanese sunk the hospital ship Centaur.
The old lady sighed, dressed and made her way to the kitchen. It was still dark outside. Today, she would attend the service for the fallen men and women in all wars.
Suddenly, she heard familiar voices of Tom and Lane. She turned to see her family in spirit.
"C'mon Mum, time to go home. She smiled.
