Thinking of my dear Mom.

Never Forgotten

Mother's Day Contest Winner

You gave life to me, you gave me my start;
now Mother's Day leaves a hole in my heart.
It's fifty-five years that we've been apart.

I never got time to know you a lot,
'fore you were laid in that burial plot.
Mother, dear mother, you'll not be forgot.

Since you were lost to me at age fifteen,
Mother's Day means to me what might have been,
sharing our lives through each passing scene.

Your guidance and love were taken away.
I hope with these words my thoughts I'll convey ~
I missed you when young, still miss you today.

To all of you there, with Moms of your own,
be thankful that you've not been left alone.
Cherish each moment of love you are shown.
