Colder winds mean...

Winter Begins

Wild winds blow off our inland sea,
Inside, next to the fire, I keep warm.
Northern snow will blanket heavily,
Threatened we are, by a coming storm.
Everyone's thoughts turn to bitter cold,
Rejoicing still, in winter's beauty bold.

Barely has Fall made its exit known,
Every bare branch gleams with new formed frost.
Greeting neighbors who will moan and groan,
Intent on making out like all is lost,
Not me, I don't hold with all that they say,
So snug inside, 'til Winter goes away.
