Rhyming quatrains
Old Writers
Old writers take their pen in hand
to share deep truths they understand;
like autumn colors bleeding red
and sunshine's warmth on graying heads.
Of how crisp snowflakes dust young hair
when winter glistens everywhere;
and how they've come to be beguiled
by coos and smiles from their grandchild.
When dawn is bathed in velvet spring,
wild geese on misty ponds take wing;
how Night Wind's robed in indigo;
with wisdom, their pen tells us so.
Low cadences and flow imbue
each line with drops of morning dew,
refreshing souls with sips of light ~
awakened whispers of the night.
Old writers take their pen in hand
and share deep truths they understand.
