Wedlock Prisoner
by RodG
For 839 days Milly was Tommy’s wife/slave, fulfilling all his needs.
The day after she turned 18, she fled, catching a bus to Reno. She rented the cheapest room she could find, waitressed at a casino’s restaurant, and hired a lawyer.
In his office, 42 days later she signed the divorce decree.
Smiling, he said, “Toss that wedding band off the bridge. It’s a custom here.”
Milly left his office. The day was sunny, warm. She walked two blocks to the bridge and threw the ring into the Truckee.
She stared at her naked finger.
“I’m still not free!”
