Dr. Terry Fying's Crumbling Crypt
Hello, boils & ghouls. Welcome to my crumbling crypt. Relax, and come inside. I can see you're just dying to begin...
Remember those types of campy introductions from HBO's Tales From the Crypt series, presented by that death defying host, "The Crypt Keeper"? How about the wildly popular, late night television horror hosts on your local TV station? Their punny, alliteration laden quips always pertained to the upcoming story.
That's the the gist of this contest.
Write a horror story, introduced by a horror host of your creation, with an introduction reminiscent of those old late-night "Creature Features",horror comics and television series. The length of your introduction does not matter, but it must pertain to the story you enter. Those are the only stipulations. The topic of the terror tale is left completely up to you. However, it must be in the horror genre.
Creative approaches are welcomed. But contest voters will be asked to consider the topic when making a choice for a winner.
Minimum length 700 words. Maximum Length 7,000 words. Recommended length 2,000 - 3,500 words.
The contest winner will win half of the prize pool of 90.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 2 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.
Deadline: Contest is closed. Deadline was Monday, July 14, 2014.
