ALWAYS listen to that voice even when folks laugh and mock you.... even when it turns out to be 'nothing', hold your head high! ;) It was always louder when I was a mom... but it's still there! ;) A wonderful offering for the contest, my lady -- well done! ;) Yvette

Glad you lived to tell this tale, Sally. You tell it so well. My husband has capsized a catamaran, and once, on a company trip, a rescue boat had to take on about thirty passengers when the boat we were on began to take on water. I could really feel your fright with this one.

Do you go to Florida for a vacation on a boat, Sally? I love the ocean, used to go to Boca Chica beach every chance I got, never on a boat. I don't know how it feels like, but after reading your adventure I think I'll stick to the sand on the beach. :) Thank you, Sally, for sharing life's great thrill. :) This is a good offering for the True Story Contest.

I love and vacation in Florida, dear poet. Occasionally, we go to the mountains of North Georgia where I am from. Our boys and grandchildren prefer the beach so we pretty much keep it at that. With my blindness, it is easier to stay closer to home. Thanks so much for the kind review and well-wishes, dear poet.

Oh my! I would have been totally freaked out. I can't swim! That is the way in FL. Terrible storm one minute, and calm the next. We have had a bad storm every night, I don't remember having so many later, they always came in the afternoon, I thought. Weather is changing and weird just like everything else that is going on right now. I'm so glad you got back safely and no need to tread water. Well done as always.

Yes we do have terrible storms in Florida. My husband bought me a high powered telescope for night star and moon gazing for my birthday. We've had evening storms every night.

I almost hate to offer ideas, for the story is excellent as is, but here goes anyway: First, I think it would be even more exciting if you started with your anxiety and then filled in just what background info was needed. Next, it might be a good idea to tell the boys' ages right away. Just some thoughts for future reference. I think you have a great chance in the contest.
