Oh such vivid memories you bring back with this flash story. Watching the school clock and waiting as time ticked so slowly toward that last bell before vacation. oh the pure joy! Thanks for sharing.

Congrats on your win. Enjoyed the trip back to grammar school. Nothing like a holiday break from a captive of the nuns, so many years ago. Have a happy Thanksgiving.

I had not thought about making the "captor" a nun, but I can imagine how you might have felt. Many thanks for your kind words. Glad you loved the story.

This is a cute little story. I like how you liken children to prisoners in school. It's been a long time, but I can relate to that feeling.
Great job and good luck in the contest.

Heh heh, I guess I can remember a time when I might have thought that once, but the innocence of childhood made me think that my 'internment' was normal, thank God for kids. Beautifully Written, good luck, blessings Roy

A clever and timely story. Aren't all students, as are their teachers, waiting to escape their cages? Your story brought back memories and made me laugh. gayla

At many times, many situations, many places we feel in prison at times. School is where it happens most of the time. Then mom, dad telling you what to do or stop doing. Happens many times to husbands being lectured to by their wives. This prison is a lot harder to get out of and has happened most of your married life. She is the judge, jury, and jail man, just pretend your listening, the football game is on.
