Typical teen age stuff, I don't know why some get such satisfaction out of teasing, immature brains and for some,, it can last well into adulthood. lol

Thank you, Joann. I like remembering those day. Maybe I still have an immature brain. lol

I think you and I would have been good friends. I'm more like you than your boy-crazy neighbor. I'm surprised that your mom would push you to go to those parties. I would have thought she would be more cautious. Maybe she knew you were cautious enough or too much so.
It's great to read about your first trip to New Orleans! Little did you know that you'd live there!

This was another fascinating, insightful chapter in your life story, Beth. I could definitely imagine how excited you must've been when you visited New Orleans, I've heard of the city but I've never been myself. An excellent piece, I enjoyed reading it.

Thank you, Jacob. New Orleans is an interesting place. I did see a lot of it at that time, but later my husband and I lived there 17 years.

We do a lot of things when we're young without thinking much about the repercussions or what they might present to onlookers. But who cares, you go to play a little smackie mouth and move on. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Ric. I find it hard to believe I was so naive as a kid. We all do things we aren't proud off but like you say, we move on, and I probably wouldn't change anything if I could.

Perfect picture to accompany the content. Seems your mother tried to put a guilt trip on you by comparing you to Elaine.
So humorous all the girls taking home ec courses. But back them the purpose of a woman was to keep house and raise babies. I wasn't boy crazy until tenth grade. Unfortunately, no boy was crazy for me.

Thank you for the review and comments. I hated being compared to someone else. Most girls did dream of getting married. Not me.

I was a very slow dater. And I knew zilch. The first guy that tried to force a kiss, I punched in the nose. I was a good girl thank you very much. What happened to those rules? Karen

Karen, I'm surprised. I would have thought you started dating at ten. I'll bet you made up for it when you did start. LOL Thanks for reviewing my story.

The only time we mixed with girls really when I was young, was at parties, and we'd play games like "spin the bottle" or "truth, dare, kiss or promise", which was the only time we could socialise anyway, girls weren't allowed out with boys back then. It's a wonder we ever learnt about sex, it wasn't taught, heh, heh. Beautifully written Beth, blessings Roy

Thank you, Roy. It sounds like girls were pretty sheltered. I hated games like spin the bottle. You never knew who you might have to kiss. I appreciate the comments.

Your accounts of your young adulthood and growing up at that part of the country in a time of changing mores are so wonderfully written. This is one of my favorite FS series.

Lots going on in this chapter, Beth, that was well-written and interesting. Fascinating that you had never been to a restaurant until you were high school age.

It was fun to hear about your innocent kissing on the bus, especially in contrast to some of the unfortunate kissing and fondling you received in previous chapters.

Thank you, Jim. Teenagers can be so naive and full of mixed emotions. I appreciate the review.

Hi Beth, this is so endearing, you finding your own way but at your terms. It's not an easy time to go through for any youngster. I totally enjoy this story about your upbringing. Ulla xx
