It is not always about the winning but about our behaviour when we lose. I enjoyed your wise words in this poem Bob, fine sentiments here, love Dolly x x x

That is so true, but I must confess I really did enjoy winning. It sure as hell beats running second.

i hope there is not a check off list because I am sure as a human I have often failed, but if God judges on what's in our heart, I've got a better chance of getting in. I enjoyed your heartfelt thoughts on dad's advice and how he's content sitting at Mama's side.
Smiles, Carol

I agree totally with your comment. This though wasn't intended as a serious instruction on how-to-live but rather as a light-hearted look at being human

This poem was fun to read but also heartwarming. I enjoyed the easy way this discussion on what's important in life happened. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Dad's back in the good books, he back sitting by dear old Mumma's side, (he's)

You got it. You have interpreted this message precisely how I intended it. It wasn't supposed to be a lecture on living but rather a reflection on honest self-assessment. Thank you for reading and perhaps understanding my warped views on life.

Your poem is incredibly moving! I was touched by the heartfelt way you share your relationship with God. I think you emphasize that well with the repetition of the last line. The emotions of your writing really come through. This is a powerful read.

Incredibly moving, wow. My wife read this and offered to help me pack. She loved the idea of me moving.

An original, humorous and entertaining verse conveying Dad's excellent advice about how to live one's life. You've injected character and fun into this with a strong message that it's love and gratitude that win the day. Count our blessings!
he('s) back sitting...
Thanks for sharing, Bob. Take care Debbie

You and my wife have something in common. She too wants me to move. Thank you, Debbie for interpreting my thoughts so accurately.

This work has reached the exceptional level

You are absolutely correct, God doesn't care how people like, how many goa
S you kick, but did you serve others, did you visit the widow, did you love and honour your wife, the cab driver, go to the assistance of a hob, it's what people may not have seen, if you did not do it for them, you didn't do it to Him, beautifully written friend Bob, blessings Roy

Are you sure you don't have access to my brain. You've read precisely the message I intended in this verse. Your mention of 'beautifully written' however really exaggerates that old school English lesson concerning hyperbole. Thank you, as always Mr. Owens.

Heh heh, oh yes, I have access to every, thought, joking, only God has that.

Everything we do and say is recorded... and that is how large our brains must be for they are the stenographers that will try to be our defense lawyer when in debate with OUR ADVOCATE.

Gee I hope most of those stenographer's tapes have been lost or inadvertently been transferred to my late twin brother John's file. John left us twenty-five years ago. Unlikely though, he neither sounded nor looked like me. Guess I'll have to accept the blame for those transgressions too. Thank you, Tom for another great review.
