Hi Beth,
This is a good chapter and tells what happens when you don't think before you do something. I can understand why you didn't find it funny. I hope your teacher let you go home to clean up or at least to the washroom to clean the goose poop off your skin. I hope it didn't ruin your new dress.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Have a nice rest of the weekend.
Joan

You're welcome, Beth. In hindsight you can always see the humor in situations.
I would say if you would laugh at it if someone else was the center of attention, then you should understand, even if it is embarrassing and the time.

Surprised the grandparents tolerated the late night, unnecessary, disturbances during storms.

"Roof top" should be roof top.

"Trailor Park' should be trailor park.

"and he and he in his wife" should be and he and his wife.

"Peel and pepper" should be peel and pepper.

"beged" should be begged.

Sure you wanted a good bath after your encounter with the goose.

Interesting events detailed in this posting.

Thank you Brett. You are a big help because you seem to see everything. I think I changed all this when you first wrote them down. I appreciate you.

I'm sure it wasn't fun to get sprayed, but I'm sure you were the reason for the plays success. For your mishap is probably the only part that made it memorable. Thanks for sharing.

I really enjoyed reading this piece about your life, and thought your voice came through really strongly in your writing. I thought you told it really well, and I was kept really engaged.

Ack! Goose poo!!
I am glad your whole family got over the PTSD from the tornado gradually.
Your teacher sounds like she didn't like kids much!
Questions:
Dad passed up my grandparent place (grandparents')
Is it "peel and pepper"? Peal is a sound.
There are two spellings of the teacher's name as Nickleson and Nicholson

Thank you, Helen. I think I've fixed the things you've mentioned. I appreciate you calling them to my attention. The name I Nicholson. I hope I only misspelled it once.

This is really cute and I smiles and even giggled at the ending. Thank you for sharing this memoir with us.

I couldln't imagine how Vergie managed to get on the floor. Those out-of-town reporters seem to have a ( couldn't & space after the period)

we could see It was lit with lanterns and someone was inside. (it)

I'm sure she would have liked to do just that. when he showed up the day of the play with a real goose to replace the stuffed one. (that,)

That will make her honk, and everyone will laugh" (laught.")

Once again, you got me to laugh out loud (sorry, at your expense). This is so good it ought to be part of a teleplay or movie script. A very small concern: "The first two to into the woods"-should it be "to go into"?

Well, you certainly made the show memorable. All eyes were on you I am sure. I bet you convienantly got sick for the next performance. Or, could the memories of the event actually made you sick. Brave soul you are! Karen

Thank you, Karen. I think there was only performance, but the goose and I did make quite a scene.
