This one is pretty short but I can't not give out a six to a working 2D acrostic about apes, of all things. Haha. Nice work and I appreciated the extra effort with the video as well.

Thanks Harambe , I appreciate your words and the extra shiny star.
I really would like to write a five-letter 2D acrostic.
You make it look so easy bit it is not.
Firstly, I need to find the right word that inspires me and then hope the words start flowing. (wink)
Take care!

It is a lot easier to do as a native speaker with a big vocabulary. Yeah, it can be quite hard and I have certain preparations, techniques and tools I use to make it manageable. The long ones can take many hours.
What I do generally is to, before starting, think about the topic. Then for each letter, in order, I make a list of words for nouns, verbs, and adjectives that fit the theme. Then I lay out the framework for the word order, and start stringing together ordered combos that still fit the topic, but I don't commit to deciding where they will go yet. By the time I've done all this prep work, which is a lot like doing a physical puzzle, much of the work is already done for me. It still requires a fair bit of googling for "verbs start start with g" sort of work. And it is important to let the brain rest along the way. 🦍

I think a wide vocabulary and practise are the top keys to achieving your level.
I will practise and try to learn new words !😝

Tempest,
Ciao!
I loved your whole presentation. Your poem tugs at the heart, as does the short video. Without words the film portrays emotions, such as empathy, sorrow, fear, and an unspoken understanding at the end. The film was so touching.
Your acrostic poem is short and powerful.
From one animal lover to another, Grazie!
Great work, Tempest!
Best wishes Cindy

Ciao Cindy!
Thank you so much for the kind words of praise and for the extra shiny star.
I found the impactful video this weekend and it inspired me to write "Apes" for the 2D acrostic contest.
The gorilla, the elephant and the rhino are majestic creatures.
All three are herbivores and despite their might, if left alone, they are peaceful giants.
All three are on the top of the endangered list because ruthless men continue to hunt and exploit them.
To a kindred soul : Live Long and prosper!

Hi
It is so sad that anyone could think in worthwhile to kill these animals.
No wonder King Kong was so mad.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Have a great rest of the weekend.

Humans can be truly despicable, as long there is a demand these noble, majestic animals will be a target for ruthless poachers mainly for Chinese Traditional medicine (elephants and rhinos) and for meat and trophies ( gorillas heads, hands and feet)
The 2D acrostic is a challenge. Apes has 4 letters hence 4 lines with set letters, that's my limit.
I hope you watched the video below.

This is a good representation of the form and I agree totally with you.
Both about it being despicable and about four letters being a hard limit.

Thanks but did you watch the video ? It inspired the poem?
-
No I will go back and watch it

It is so sad that there still are poachers in the world. I can't imagine taking the life of another animal just for sport or for other means, it's really despicable. A well written piece. I enjoyed reading it.

The 2D acrostic invented by Harambe ( aka SimianSavant now) is challenging seeing the letters are set.
The longer the word the harder it gets. APES has 4 letters hence 4 lines, that's my limit.
Yes it's horrific that such noble and majestic animals like the gorilla, the elephant, and the rhino are hunted for their tusks, horns, hands and feet.
Seahorses face the same fate. 40 million seahorses are killed every year to supply Chinese Traditional medicine. They are left in the sun to dry alive. They are on top of the endangered list too.
Not even pregnant male seahorses who have big bulging pouches where the tiny seahorses are developing, are spared.
We certainly don't deserve this wondrous planet.
Thank you for sharing. Keep safe!
