I llve in Chicago and enjoy poems and stories about the Great Fife. Your last line is confusing. You make it sound like the inferno, not the city, rose likes phoenix. May I suggest rephrasing your poem something like this:
After inferno
razed most of Chicago she
rose like a phoenix

This sounds much like the Great Fire of London in 1666. How dreadful and I expect the wind helped to fan the flames, a fine post, good luck with this one, love Dolly x x x

    You are correct re the wind. Thanks for the feedback. Concurrently, there was a fire in Peshtigo, Wisconsin, that wiped out the town except for a convent, school, and chapel.
