This senryu captures deep feelings of loss and the impact of having to let go. It is like watching leaves float down a stream - and the helplessness of not being able to turn back time to recapture the days when those leaves were still green and vibrant. Beautiful sentiments presented with perfect artwork.

Breaking up with someone you love is no different than death. Only, they are alive, as your heart is tormented daily. So many mixed emotions run through your mind that affect the heart.

To live with loss is something we all do in our own way, to have the gift of expressing these feelings and helping ourselves and others is truly written here, an exceptional read****kahpot

A beautifully written and crafted senryu. In these words, you can feel the emotion and pain of loss even if you have never felt such pain.
Your presentation goes well with your words.

Many relationships end in separation, some in the passing of one or the other partner. In either case the initial pain of letting go will be difficult to absorb. Unfortunately, I have experienced both situations, neither is any better than the other.

You state the pain very descriptively. Good job.

A wonderful senryu, Gypsy. I loved the picture and the multicolored fonts. Your words capture the essence of life and of living alone. Very well done, greatly enjoyed. Blessed be n hugs!

Wow. This stunned me in its simple plaintive truth. Sometimes in the storms of life things turn cold and leaves are ripped from their branches well before their time. Metaphorically I can so relate. What's left to do, then, but keep our heads above water as we flow downstream!

Excellent work! The presentation is as artistic and impressive as the poem! Well matched! Nice quotes too. I love the satori-esque closing line. The word downstream makes it not only more unique but more powerful and expressive. the emotional tenor reaches a zenith pitch with that word. Bravo! In such short forms, each word counts. You chose them well! I also applaud the musicality with consonant of L and S etc.

Warmly, rd

Hi Gypsy Queen,
to go into the emotion of this one, well I don't want to! But you know I can't help, but to do exactly that. The talent of your art demands I do!

Letting go, is really the hardest thing to do... and depending on the circumstances surrounding the separation, can be devastating to the point of a mental break.

The image and words are so beautifully paired, I'm not sure there is any separation to the totality of this very fine piece.

You set the pain up so damn well, that the satori... the time and space, the changing of circumstance you have so cleverly crafted into a seasonal drift is something the mind's eye watches floating away.

A truly brilliant presentation. Words that seem to linger way past the actual read of the senryu.

I have lived, I have lost... but I have never forgotten the joy of belonging.

With our thoughts we create...
echoes throughout time.

Kind regards,
James.

"I have lived, I have lost... but I have never forgotten the joy of belonging." So good, can I use your quote? I will give you credit.

Your insightful and kind feedback is very important to me. You see beyond my words...you see 'me'. The exceptional six stars review is the icing on the cake.

You know how much I love my visual art presentations. I spend most of my time caring for my demanding and challenging 4 years old. Hehehe. My poetry is the one thing I do for me. It's my passion. When I lived alone, I used to paint, draw, do arts and crafts... but now my writing is all I have to express my artistic self... the divine creater....we artists are the conduit force of the Creator, be God or Buddha. For me, my outlet is unrhymed Japanese poetry that is such a visual kind of poetry. I tried western poetry and the complicated rhymed and metered poetry kill my free spirit-muse.

I have lived an emotional life with extreme highs and lows ... extremely happy or chronicly depressed ... I use that experience for my writing... as you do. We dwell in the house of pain and ecstacy. .

I could chat with you for hours, my friend, my kindred spirit.

    Thank you,

    Gypsy

If I write something on your page in a review, reply, or just chatting, it is yours to use at your pleasure sweet Lady.
We are definitely kindred spirits though, I find myself staying longer on your page and posts than any other, expecting you to appear magically somehow... that's how your words connect to me most times.
Looking after a four year old I would imagine is a task within itself, let alone challenging and demanding. I hope you have more than just your responsibilities and art to fill your emotional cup up with though.
I love your quotes... you have started my creative juices flowing. Not only do I need that, I enjoy the inspiration you give me through the visual you paint upon the page. I'm also not great with the meter thing, I prefer to let my thoughts take me where they will at any given time.
The ups and the downs are what allows the equilibrium to appear as a utopian state of mind.
I can remember the last time I fell into a deep-deep depression... elven years ago. I had some kind of breakthrough sometime after. I can't remember how long it took to fight my way out of it. But this is the longest period of my life that I haven't gone into a depressive state. Recognising and acknowledging the first signs are the key to alleviating the problem. I'm attuned to the signs now and do everything I can to change the attitude that bring it to light. I know the chemical change in one's brain can be caused by different reaction and disease... but somehow I changed the process, well, for now at least.
Surviving is being smacked down, getting back up, dusting yourself off and standing proud, knowing you've got something left to fight for.

    Kindest regards.
