This chapter is quite dramatic. I love the way you have painted the villain' James's character in the darkest shade possible. This is what the flames of revenge does to a man locked up for years. Looks like Jaz and Allie are good fighters and will survive in the end.

You put your character through some brutal treatment before you finally rescue them. I guess until some miracle interveins Jaz is about to be raped by Charles. At least, she took some of the desire out of James. I hope we want have to wait long to see what happens next.

she could as he drug her back (dragged) unless you wanted a folksy tone to the narrator.

Carol, this is so dramatic, and so awful. James is so vile, he seems almost demon-possessed. Hoping that Marian and Sam can work out what to do to right the situation. Gripping story!

Brutal. James is beyond evil--graphic depiction of a demonic mind. Brilliant chapter.
