Burner Downer by Bill Schott
Write A Sonnet writing prompt entry

As I lie on my bed and look outside,

without a wall to opaque-ate my view,

so glad the roof has gravity defied,

and to the basement I've not fallen through.

To say this house needs fixing up is rich,

needs burning down would be the likely choice;

perhaps a lightning strike will scratch this itch,

and take away the screaming in my voice.

That will beat the prior plan of patches,

I'll raze this place by any means at all;

it may require gasoline and matches,

to make this horrid house in flames to fall.

Whatever happens to my home today,

will not be done 'til I've unhit the hay.
