My muse of love inspires me
to scribe the words you often see.
Imagination within my heart
Spills magic out from the start.
As beauty shines on what is penned,
enchanting thoughts — they have no end.
The magic of the twinkling star;
romantic glances from afar.
Delicious verses filled with light
surpass the common speech and sight.
Compassion seeds the intimate,
along with heaven’s sentiment.
My muse does whisper mystically;
and only hidden eyes can see
the spirit’s splendor from above —
I’m bonding with my muse of love.

Painting: Erato & Circle of the 5th by Danny Pollaert.
ERATO was one of the nine Mousai (Muses), the goddesses of music, song and dance. In the Classical era, when the Mousai were assigned specific literary and artistic spheres, Erato was named Muse of erotic poetry and mime, and represented with a lyre. Her name means "lovely" or "beloved" from the Greek word eratos.
