He stands before me a man,
My one and only son.
I cherish our years together,
The heartaches and the fun.
I watched him grow to manhood,
He grew up strong and tall.
We did many things together
And we both enjoyed it all.
He's a son a father can be proud of
And I pray to the Lord above.
If I have nothing else to give,
He will always accept my love.
For, I have in my son a reality,
wished for by most men.
He's not just my only son,
He's also my best friend.
