Gluttony is said to be a deadly sin for reasons that
Are obvious, it seems to me—who wants to have unhealthy fat?
Though getting to that piggish state is kinda fun, I must admit,
But then I think how nice it’d be to see myself as trim and fit.
“When dining out, a lady leaves a small amount upon her plate,”
Is what my mother taught us girls when we were prob’bly six or eight.
I think of that, sometimes, and smile, as I’ve not left a single crumb;
And I admit that I enjoy the glutton I sometimes become.
But then I think it’s prob’ly wise for gluttony to be a sin;
If people choose not to indulge, instead of fat, they could be thin;
However, very lady-like, I circumvent the sinful state:
I order something that has bones and leave them on the blasted plate.
