A Senior Now
I can’t believe a decade’s flown
Since last I wrote for you a poem.
But Heather, here I am my dear
Another verse with Birthday Cheer.
A senior now you’ve reached that age;
With sixty years upon the page.
A senior’s card you can collect
For discounts, now you can select.
And when you dine a senior’s meal
With be on offer for the deal.
Trains and bus rides also cheap,
Movie tickets you can reap.
Funeral planned insurance too
Will all be posted out to you.
Ha Ha I know, I have them all
Because at sixty they will call.
You’ll lose your mind and misplace things,
Can’t find your phone now when it rings.
Your glasses, keys will put somewhere
So please, make sure you have a spare.
I know you think I joke around
But it’s the truth, still I have found,
When things go wrong just smile and say
“Not goin yet I’m here to stay”.
And so dear Heather many Cheers
Enjoy it all your sixty years.
But one last thing before I send
A “Happy Birthday” from a friend.
