Autumns Blue Skies
This April Autumn month is beautiful
With clear warm days, skies canopied in blue.
Although the earth is dry in need of rain
The sun comes out high in the sky again.
Instead of russet red the trees are green
A fall of autumn leaves, I have not seen.
The stars come out against the black of night
And twinkle merrily while shining bright.
Each morn I hear the birds who twitter tweet,
And watch them as from tree to tree they flit.
The butterflies amongst the flowers dance
And sleeping dogs, to comfortable, too glance.
I stretch out long and bask in warmth of sun
A good book read until each chapter’s done.
I hope this autumn weather last a while
Relaxing in its beauty makes me smile.
But knowing soon these lovely days must end,
As dark grey clouds with winter rains descend.
The seasons change no matter what we do
My favourite though; is when the skies are blue.

Author Notes
It is Autumn in Australia at the moment and this year our Autumn has been rather lovely with clear blue skies and warm days but little rain. The leaves are quite green with just a hint of change and each day is so nice to wake up to and enjoy. I hope we have a few more days before winter sets in.
This poem is my reflection of this time
