Banking off invisible stars
Strung up in effigy;
Destined
To swing and sway
From the rafters of
Nights dressed in pitch.
Hanging
on
To the edge of frost
Dawn shivers;
Slipping
Into the envelope
Of a dying horizon
Sealed for eternity.
