Good Oct 19th contest by MCLII1987 The First Page writing prompt entry

All of the regrets that I have from my life could wrap around this entire planet. I have been here two weeks and the only human contact that I have had has been with my lab team. Since I slept on most of the flight here I do not have to worry about regaining my strength to much. Now that I am squared away the first thing I need to do is dig down into the planet to see if I can find water underneath. I did this by using the Ditch Witch and a boring drill bit that digs deep into the planet. I heard the sloshing sounds of water. I stuck the snake camera down into the hole and it looked like there was water. My next task was to build a water filtration system that went from this hole back to my base camp. I tasted the water and I did not drop dead, so I guess I did good. But I am a long way from colonizing this planet. In the first few months I tried to keep myself busy exploring the planet, collecting samples, and doing experiments, but there is only so much I can do, I am a long way from colonizing this new planet.
