She knew she was being watched,and not from afar
He was staring at her from a door that was ajar.
She felt his presence before she met his eyes
In his hand was the knife ,and she had to sigh.
He was here to hurt her,hurt her through and through
Because she did what she thought she had to do.
She left him with his mean streak,that he hid inside
Which only came out at home where they did reside
Too scared to say a word,her mind just thought a prayer,
Jesus, if i'm going to die I'm glad you are my savior.
Without a word between them, he turned and walked away,
She fell to the floor thanking God for another day.
She did not hear from him for many months passed by
And when their paths crossed again, he began to cry
I'm sorry I tried to hurt you I thought that you were mine
you were his and always have been,and now I know it's fine.
I signed the papers when they came,now we don't share the same last name.
