Eight Assumptions of A Fool  I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.”’ 1. Assumed that an eternal soul’s temporal provisions were enough 4. Assumed that a soul can be fed and satisfied with natural goods and food 5. Assumed that riches guarantee happiness   6. Assumed that he would live a long life of plenty 7. Assumed that God would never require his soul 8. Assumed that he was wise to provide for the present and forget eternity   All of his assumptions were wrong.  God said to him, ‘Fool!
