panic sets in
my empty heart
forging through the forest frantically seeking me

Author Notes
Sometimes, we drift from ourselves in the midst of life's changes whether in a difficult relationship, even a loving one, or as our roles shift when children grow up and leave home. Loss, whether through separation or the passing of a loved one, can leave us feeling unanchored, uncertain of who we are without them. In these moments, we may wander emotionally, searching for the identity we once had or the one we need to become. It is important to pause, reflect, and intentionally rediscover ourselves, embracing growth rather than simply longing for what was. In finding ourselves again, we step into a renewed sense of purpose and wholeness.
