Longships   beach on soft sand   'neath warming sun.   Marauding warriors rape, loot, pillage and burn. Writing Prompt Write a poem that has the following syllable count. First line has two syllables, second and third line have four syllables, the final line has 12 syllables. Author Notes I tried to establish a dramatic counterpoint between the picturesque tranquillity of the first half of the piece, and the horrific violence of the second.
