Matchsticks in the flood
Some grasp at matchsticks in a flood,
as if they can be saved.
Deception borne on wings of grief
because man is depraved.
Too many souls are lost and drowned
because they place their trust,
in fate and guessing's circumstance,
a time-swept fatal gust.
The judgement book cannot correct,
or balance good and bad.
Because those best intention's aren't
good fruit that makes heart's glad.
It's only grace and grace alone
that God has gifted man.
That changes chance, invites our heart
to choose God's perfect plan. .
They cannot see that sin resolved
is Christ, this spotless Lamb,
was sent to snatch from violent mouths
a foil for Satan's plan.
So why can't people spot the truth
why don't they want to see?
It seems that someone bound their minds
unable to break free.
