When I am through with all that frost And that snow with which I did flirt I’m thankful for the days of Spring Ending each one, smelling like dirt   Winter slaughters, destroys God’s growth In Spring’s joy, laboring for hours I may return a weary man But soon I will smell the flowers   Winter is cruel, white covers all Body warms with embers of coal Spring wards off Winter’s angry chill And breathes refreshment to my soul   Writing Prompt Write a poem about how spring affects you.
