Tommy the Turtle found a pond with great delight,
He thought the water clear in the early morning light.
On a log, he saw Sammy the Snail, polishing his shell,
Sam greeted him and said, “I’ll show you the pond, all is well.”
From a lily pad, Franny the Frog called, “Can I join the fun?”
“Sure,” Sammy said. She leaped, glossy green in the sun.
The three friends swam and explored the pond far and wide,
As they searched, they found clever places to hide.
One place they found was a mysterious, hidden cave,
Tommy said, “Let’s explore.” He was really brave.
It was pitch black in the cave; they couldn’t see,
Then Fran shouted, “A ghost! This place isn’t for me.”
Out swam Tommy, Sammy, and Fran, fast as they could,
Avoiding the cave was a lesson well understood.
Night came with stars twinkling high in the sky,
The three sat quiet, enchanted by fireflies nearby.
Tom, Fran, and Sam, delighted to be best friends,
Though they looked different, their friendship would never end.
