Kamala Harris Vacationed to Paris In search of applause and acclaim She climbed up the ferrous steps onto the terrace As peasants below praised her name Not one to settle, Full of true mettle To bring hope and change to the poor She spied a sweet store With a fancy tea kettle And made all the staff shut the door Full of great wisdom and vision She faced a most daunting decision Which one should be bought? The kettle or pot? The wrong one could cause her excision The kettle that day was on sale Finely crafted with lovely detail But the pot was more black -- There was no going back -- Today the dark side would prevail And Kamala felt so alive Trusting all in the store would connive: The true cost for vice Was a D-E-I price Of three hundred seventy-five She waltzed from the store with great pride To the Presidency she shall glide She makes all the tough calls That require real balls No one else could be more qualified! Author Notes This poem is based on the true story of Kamala Harris' first trip abroad as Vice President in 2021 where she spent $375 on a pot in Paris. My brother was responsible for the article.
