Found a package on my porch. It was weighty. I didn’t order anything. No return address. I carried it to the kitchen and sliced it open. Inside lay a German Luger. A note said, Grandfather.   He survived the Holocaust, but he died before I met him. After the war, he couldn't find his daughter. He came to America alone. He must have been fearful of being taken again.   I wonder if my long-lost great aunt could have sent the gun?    Writing Prompt Something unexpected arrives by mail.
