I took off my mask, showed you my wounds, and shared my life story. Hoping for acceptance, forgiveness, love and understanding.  You are shocked to silence, looking away and I worry.    Now my naked soul, unclothed, stands shivering in the breeze My sins exposed, soul judged, ashamed, and bleeding. I am begging someone to find my clothes please.   Telling my story shames me, maims me, leaves me alone. Now I’m hiding like Eve behind a tree, hoping you won’t keep looking. Let me conceal myself in a shadow of my own.     Let me dress again, bring me fig leaves, I will cover sin so vile. Let me pretend, floating aimlessly, unknown, unseen down life’s river. Let me return to The Queen of the River of Denial.   Recognized Author Notes It has been very hard at times to be honest with myself and my audience. Especially those of my own family.
