Mary May Matilda Ray
went for a walk one sunny day.
Over the hill, the way to take,
under a tree, she took a break.
Had some cookies and lemonade
and the cheese sandwich mama made.
She heard a robin singing out loud,
its lovely red breast puffed out proud.
She saw some flowers with colors bright,
it was always such a beautiful sight.
A caterpillar wiggled on by,
Mary said "Hi", and then waved goodbye.
She saw a squirrel gathering nuts,
running fast, no ifs, ands, or buts.
Working hard, it stored them to eat,
it didn't seem like a tasty treat.
Mary was glad she was a girl,
and didn't have to eat like a squirrel.
Mary May Matilda Ray
was having lots of fun today.
She met a bunny, soft and white,
he wiggled his ears, to her delight.
On the grass, she did a dance,
she wheeled and swirled and even pranced.
Mary May Matilda Ray
was tired by the end of day.
She liked so much when she could roam,
but it was time to go back home.
To travel back, it wasn't hard,
she's not allowed to leave the yard.
But each day Mary will explore,
the world that's right outside her door!
