Rainbow by Kristen Rose Ulrich
Abecdarian Poem writing prompt entry

After the rain, there is a rainbow,

Blue, violet, indigo,

Curving throughout the sky,

Don’t look down, look up, don’t be shy,

Elegant as any sunset,

Flourishing, this must be kismet,

Glorious as ever,

Hovering over the whole Earth,

Igniting a feeling of God’s worth,

Joyfully painting the sky,

Kaleidoscopically meeting the eye,

Lavishly leading the way,

Making my day,

Needing this today,

Opalescent in its own way,

Playfully God shows his power,

Quietly we gaze after the shower,

Rainbow, you are truly a work of art,

Sad to see us start to part,

Truthfully, I am glad that I am not blind,

Ultimately, this is what I would like to find,

Vivacious and free you are rainbow,

Wonderful and brilliant, don’t you know,

Xylophones remind me of you,

Yearning to get to the next tune, it’s true,

Zestfully completing each color step, you do.

Writing Prompt
